Good sleep also helps to repair you physically. While we sleep our bodies go to work repairing heart and blood vessels. A lack of sleep therefore has the opposite affect. A lack of sleep can lead to heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and even stroke.

Sleep deficiency can lead to obesity. Each hour of lost sleep adds to the chances of becoming obese. Sleep deficiency increases the risk of obesity in lots of different age groups so this is something to be aware of.
