The World Cancer Research Fund International has an updated data collected globally. Their statistics indicate that there are roughly 14.1 million cancer cases in 2012 alone. Of this, 52% or 7.4 million are men and 48% or 6.7 million are women.

Amongst women, breast cancer is the most common type worldwide. It accounts for more than 25% of new cases reported in 2012. Second on the list of most common cancer types for women is colorectal followed by lung cancer.
