Everyone is familiar with the unpleasant effects of nausea, particularly when it comes on quickly and unexpectedly. While we recommend that you are sure to speak to your doctor about any recurring bouts of nausea, there are a number of different home remedies for nausea that you may want to try instead of expensive over the counter medicines.

If you're looking for suggestions for how to cure nausea without traditional medications, then we recommend starting with ginger. Although it's not to everyone's taste, it's excellent for settling an upset stomach. While it's not quite the same, you could also trying sipping a ginger ale, although this won't work for everyone. An alternative drink that you might want to try is peppermint tea - but again, it's not for everyone.

If at all possible, we recommend using a fan to blow cold air on your face and body. The effect of circulating air can be quire refreshing, and it's quite a practical approach should nausea strike while you're at work or out of the house. If you do happen to be at home, you might like to try a shallow bath filled with cold water.

When it comes to food, we suggest eating a banana, some peanuts or some crackers in order to settle your stomach. Unfortunately, if the nausea is so bad that you can't quite make yourself eat, this isn't going to be a viable option.
