Benefits of sleeping nude
It’s obviously easier than sleeping in clothes for a lot of reasons. There are no PJs to clean, although your linen may need more regular washing. Also, you will be more comfortable as there are no clothes to get bunched up in uncomfortable positions. Of course, the downside is that you might get cold without clothes to keep you warm, especially if you share a bed with a duvet stealer. Sleeping without clothes also makes you feel freer.
Skin on skin
Skin on skin contact is the best, especially when you get to snuggle with your partner. Of course, this type of contact can easily allow for a more active sex life too, but even without that you’ll release more oxytocin, which is the thing that makes you feel good about your partner.
Cortisol
Cortisol is a chemical within the body that can do some damage. When you sleep without clothes on your body temp remains within its optimal range which makes creating cortisol better and easier. Higher levels of cortisol can lead to a craving for fatty foods, weight gain and anxiety, all things most of us strive to avoid each day.
Growth hormones
Keeping your bedroom below 21 degrees C will help you to regulate melatonin and growth hormones. These chemicals help you prevent ageing, and they’re essential for your health and wellbeing. If you really want to take this piece of advice to its extreme, you could say that sleeping with your clothes on ages you.
